Troubleshooting & FAQ

Answers to common questions

Why aren't faces being detected in my photos?

Face detection works best with clear, well-lit photos where faces are at least 50 pixels wide. Very small, blurry, or heavily obscured faces may not be detected. Try adjusting the crop settings or use the manual crop editor for those images.

My HEIC/HEIF files aren't loading. What should I do?

HEIC and HEIF support requires macOS 12 (Monterey) or later. If you're on an older version of macOS, convert your files to JPEG or PNG first.

Can I undo changes to my original photos?

SnapFixPics never modifies your original files. All processed images are saved to a separate output folder, so your originals are always safe.

How do I change the output image format?

Use the export settings to choose your preferred output format. You can convert between any supported format (JPEG, PNG, HEIC, HEIF, BMP) during export.

Processing is slow with large folders. Any tips?

Processing speed depends on image size and the number of photos. For very large batches (500+ images), consider processing in smaller groups. Closing other resource-intensive apps can also help.

What macOS version is required?

SnapFixPics requires macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later for full feature support, including person and face detection.
